header microblading

Wake up each morning with perfect brows! No downtime, low maintenance, and better-than-brow extensions or the older, more permanent style of brow tattooing as these are semi-permanent, with results lasting twelve to eighteen months.

This treatment is perfect for filling in gaps, adding brow definition, light-colored brow hair, or to fill-in over-tweezed eyebrows.

Eyebrow microblading is a meticulous treatment which can take up to a few hours over a few appointments. Individual brow hairs are drawn in one-by-one with a special microblading tool, implanting ink into the skin. Results are natural-looking due to this process – each stroke looks like one hair. No machines, no needles!

Natural, gorgeous results only come from the work of a patient, talented, and certified practitioner, such as we have in our brow artists. You’ll be in good hands!

In San Francisco, Holly Byerly, LE, Director of Esthetics, Coolsculpting Specialist, and VMV Hypoallergenics Brand Educator. And at our Larkspur location, Elizabeth Clark, LE, Licensed Clinical Esthetician. With both practitioners, you benefit from artistic skill and their clinical backgrounds.

We are one of the few facilities in San Francisco and Larkspur currently licensed to perform permanent makeup work, allowing us to legally perform microblading.

Why a Certified Practitioner?

Healing Process

Cost and Appointment Plan
1. Complimentary Consultation – 15 minutes:
First, Holly or Elizabeth will ensure that you are a candidate for microblading – this appointment can include a general skincare consultation too as both are clinical estheticians.

2. Initial Prep Appointment – 30 minutes:
We’ll spend time drawing the desired brow shape, cleaning up the existing brow area with wax or tweezing, and going over current brow products that are used on a daily basis. We ask that you bring your brow products (pencil, gel, powder) with you so we can see your color preference and that you apply your brow product the way that you like your brows to look when coming to this appointment.
$150 – This amount goes toward your First Microblading Appointment or toward any other service we offer should you decide to forgo microblading.

3. First Microblading Session – 90 minutes:
We start by cleaning the area to be treated and then take pictures of the brows. We apply a topical numbing solution and let this sit for 20-30 minutes for full effect.  During this wait time, we mix our ink colors and prepare our tools.  After removing the numbing cream, we draw a brow outline guide and begin the microblading process. Holly or Elizabeth will continually check in with you to determine your comfort level. When we are close to completed, we will have you sit up and confirm that the shape is as you wish. We finish this session with another set of photos.  (We can share the before and after with you, just ask!) Finally, you will be provided with aftercare instructions.
$600-$800 – Includes 4-6 week touch-up session

4. Touch-up Session – 75 minutes:
For best results, schedule your Touch-up Session within 4-6 weeks of the original session. This session will focus on any loss of pigment and we will make sure everything is perfect.
There’s no additional charge if completed 4- 6 weeks after your First Microblading Session.  After six weeks – $200.

5. Second Touch-up Session – 60 minutes:
On rare occasion a second touch-up is necessary – typically on very thin skin or very oily skin or if aftercare instructions are not followed – if a second touch-up is needed, this would be completed 4-6 weeks after the first touch- up.

Touch-ups more than six months after First Microblading Session and touch-up sessions require a new consultation to determine how much work is needed.
After six months, the cost is between $300-700.

Before Your Appointments
Before your Initial Prep Appointment, please gather any inspirational photos and all your usual brow makeup (pencil, gel, powder).  At this appointment, please show up with your brows in your full, usual makeup.

Before your First Microblading Appointment, we suggest you wash your hair and consider purchasing a dry shampoo as you won’t be able to get your eyebrows wet for a few days after the treatment.  You’ll need to make sure your schedule does not include the gym, showers, sweating, sun exposure, swimming, and makeup for a few days after your appointment.  Details will be in your aftercare instructions, and we will cover this during your Consult and/or Initial Prep Appointment, as well as any other steps that may be needed for your health and optimal results.  We will go over use of medications, supplements, and retinol if relevant to you.   Avoiding caffeine intake before your appointment may lessen sensitivity to the procedure.

Why a Certified Practitioner?
Results and safety.  Neglect of these important aspects of microblading can have repercussions that will be with you for a long time.

A certified practitioner, like Holly or Elizabeth, assures natural results based upon understanding of client wishes and expectations, as well as experience, certification, a steady hand, and patience.
Your safety will be our primary concern.  You can know that her tools and product are clean and safe, and only purchased from high-end vendors.  (No cheap microblading kits purchased from questionable websites.)

Our San Francisco location is verified by San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFPDH) and our Larkspur location by County of Marin Department of Health and Human Services. We are one of the few facilities in San Francisco which is currently licensed, allowing us to legally perform microblading.

Healing Process
While every person is different and some heal more quickly or slowly than others, here’s generally what to expect following your eyebrow procedure.

Day 1 to 2
The eyebrows are approximately 50% darker and 10-15% bolder in width than they will be when healed. Expect light to moderate swelling and redness. This will subside. Don’t be concerned that your eyebrows initially appear darker and heavier in size than you desire. This is all part of the process.

Day 3 to 7
• Day 3 – Eyebrows start to itch and will appear a bit thicker in texture.
• Day 4 -The skin begins to flake, peeling from the outside edges first. Please do not pick at the scabs – this can remove pigment and the brows may end up patchy looking. This natural exfoliation will cause the excess pigment surrounding the eyebrow to flake away and a more narrow appearance follows.
• Day 5/6 – Color finishes flaking off and appears softer and grayer for a few days until color clarifies. New skin will heal over the pigmented area and result in a softer appearance of your eyebrows.
• Day 7 – For the next few days, the color may now be lighter than what the final color will be.

Day 8 to 30
The final color begins to stabilize and show through.

Day 11 to 30
Pigment can disappear and reappear after two weeks so please be patient with final results after one month.

Day 30
Please book your follow-up appointment for your Touch-Up Session. After your touch-up session, the healing process is the same. The final results will show after this Touch-up Session.
