Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a high concentration of blood platelets surrounded by its own plasma. PRP is produced when a small amount of blood is drawn and the red cells are isolated from the platelets-rich plasma within the blood. This component of your blood contains life-giving fundamental protein growth factors.
PRP skin rejuvenation is available at both our San Francisco and Marin locations, and only as an add-on to our Microneedling Collagen Induction Treatment as PRP must be applied to skin which has been opened to receive plasma. During this cutting-edge new therapy, your own blood will be drawn by a licensed skin care practitioner and put in a centrifuge to separate the platelets, which contains life-giving, fundamental protein growth factors from the other components of the blood. This plasma is then applied to your skin during the microneedling therapy. The combination of plasma applied to your beneficially damaged skin brings about tissue repair, cell growth, and collagen production. Since this plasma is part of your own blood, there is no risk of intolerance or allergic reaction. The amount of blood drawn is similar to when you get a blood test.
Benefits pf the PRP Treatment include:
• Tissue repair
• Cell growth
• Collagen production
